ପଦ୍ମଶ୍ରୀ ସଚ୍ଚିଦାନନ୍ଦ ରାଉତରାୟ (୧୯୧୫-୨୦୦୪) ଆଧୁନିକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ ରୋମାଣ୍ଟିକ୍ ଚେତନାର ବାର୍ତ୍ତାବହ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଗତିବାଦୀ ତଥା ପ୍ରୟୋଗବାଦୀ ଚେତନାର ଉଦାତ୍ତ ଗାୟକ ଭାବରେ ଜଣେ ଅନତିକ୍ରମଣୀୟ ସ୍ରଷ୍ଟାପୁରୁଷ। ଆଧୁନିକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ କବିତାର ଅଗ୍ରଦୂତ ଭାବରେ ସେ ଅଗଣିିତ ପାଠକଙ୍କର ପ୍ରିୟ। ଅଜସ୍ରସ୍ରାବୀ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ପାଠକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ କେବଳ ନୁହେଁ, ବିଶ୍ୱଦରବାରରେ ଜଣେ ମହାନ କବି, ନାଟ୍ୟକାର, ଔପନ୍ୟାସିକ, ଗାଳ୍ପିକ, ପ୍ରାବନ୍ଧିକ, ସମାଲୋଚକ ତଥା ଆତ୍ମଜୀବନୀ ଲେଖକର ମାନ୍ୟତା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଛି। ତାଙ୍କ କାବ୍ୟଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ନମନୀୟ ରୋମାଣ୍ଟିକ୍]ପ୍ରବଣତା, କଥାଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ଅଫୁରନ୍ତ ବାକ୍]ବୈଦଗ୍ଧ ଉଚ୍ଛ୍ୱାସ, ଅନ୍ତର୍ଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ବୈଚାରିକତା ତାଙ୍କ ସାଧନାର ବ୍ୟାପ୍ତିକୁ ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ କରିଛି। ପଲ୍ଲୀପ୍ରାଣତା, ସାମ୍ୟବାଦୀ ପ୍ରବଣତା ଏବଂ ଶିଳ୍ପଗତ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ଉପସ୍ଥାପନା ହିଁ ସଚ୍ଚି ରାଉତରାୟଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ସ୍ରଷ୍ଟାର ମାନ୍ୟତା ଦେଇଛି। କବିତା-୧୯୬୨ ଗ୍ରନ୍ଥ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଏକାଡେମୀ ପୁରସ୍କାର (୧୯୬୨) ଏବଂ କାବ୍ୟକୃତି ପାଇଁ ୧୯୯୬ରେ ମର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦାଜନକ ‘ସାହିତ୍ୟଭାରତୀ’ ସମ୍ମାନରେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ। ତାଙ୍କର ନିରବଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ସାଧନା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ୧୯୬୨ ମସିହାରେ ‘ପଦ୍ମଶ୍ରୀ’ ୧୯୬୭ ଏବଂ ୧୯୬୮ ମସିହାରେ ଯଥାକ୍ରମେ ଆନ୍ଧ୍ର ବିଶ୍ୱବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ଓ ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ବିଶ୍ୱବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟଦ୍ୱାରା ସମ୍ମାନସୂଚକ ଡିଲିଟ୍ ଉପାଧି ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇଛି। ୧୯୮୬ ମସିହାରେ ଭାରତର ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ସମ୍ମାନ ରୂପେ ସଚ୍ଚି ରାଉତରାୟ ‘ଭାରତୀୟ ଜ୍ଞାନପୀଠ ପୁରସ୍କାର’ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କରିଥିଲେ।
Kailash Pattanaik (1957 -) is one of the most powerful writers of Odia literature who has left an indelible mark in the Indian fictionscape through his reconceptualization of fables and parables in the contemporary context. Despite being a reclusive writer, he is widely read and appreciated for his creativity and innovative writing style. His love for unconventional narrative and his ability to view time and civilization from a symbolic standpoint has created room for some serious academic dialogue.
