About the Author

Gayatri Saraf (born August 17, 1952) is a noted Indian writer and thirteen short story collections in Odia to her credit. A recipient of President’s award for teaching (2004) and Central Sahitya Academy Award (2017) for her book of short stories “Itabhatira Shilpi”. In her stories and endeavor to stretch the possibilities of the short story form can be marked; she constantly explores new themes and shelved deep into its character. For this reason, the writer from Bolangir enjoys a loyal readership and reputation as a foremost writer in Odisha. She has worked as the Vice-President of Odisha Sahitya Academy from 2015 to 2018. She lives in Bhubaneswar, India.
