Eka Nutan Sakal Pare is an anthology of sixty six poems in Odia translation from thirty countries. The poets include Walt Whitman, Anna Akhmatova, Tomas Transtromer, Pablo Neruda, Sylvia Plath, Rumi, Sappho, Ryokan, Ezra Pound, Robert Frost, Nicanor Parra and many younger poets. The purpose of this anthology is to introduce the work of these poets to Odia readers. A short biography of the poets is included at the end of the book.

About the Author

About the translator: Satya Pattanaik has published two collections of poetry in Odia (Pasanara Prema Sangeeta – Bharat Bharati, Cuttack, Jharka Khola Thau – Paschima Publication, Bhubaneswar) and two translation collections of world literature in Odia (Kshyudragalpara Mrutyu O Anyanya Galpa, Ama Nija Mati O Anyanya Kabita – Paschima Publication, Bhubaneswar). He edits Odia literary magazine ‘Pratishruti’ from USA. To propagate Indian literature globally he manages a non-profit publishing initiative BLACK EAGLE BOOKS (www.blackeaglebooks.org) with a focus in republication of classic and contemporary literature, managing translation projects, providing editing and other literary services to writers. About the Cover artist: Ishani Das, a recipient of the Young India Fellowship, is pursuing her post- graduate studies. She has a fascination for painting and likes to experiment with novel themes.
