About the Author
Rituparna Moharana is currently a faculty member in the Department of English at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the same institution, where she undertook an in-depth and insightful exploration of the works of renowned American war correspondent and writer, Martha Gellhorn. Her doctoral dissertation, “Convergence of Fact and Fiction: A Critical Study on the Literary Journalism of Martha Gellhorn,” critically examines the nuanced interplay between factual reportage and fictional narrative techniques in Gellhorn’s writings, with a special focus on the portrayal of women in wartime landscapes. Her recent publication, an English translation of the Odia short stories from Tarun Kanti Mishra’s celebrated collection Bhaswati, was released in 2025 by Bloomsbury Publishing, India. With a keen academic interest in literary journalism, gender studies, and translation, Dr. Moharana continues to contribute meaningfully to contemporary literary scholarship and cross-cultural discourse.
