About the Author
Dr. Ramakanta Samantaray (born 1972) is a distinguished contemporary artist and scholar from Odisha who seamlessly bridges the worlds of visual art and literature. After mastering the language of colors and forms at B.K. College of Art and Craft, Bhubaneswar, he pursued a Ph.D. in Odia Literature and Language from Utkal University, establishing himself as that rare creative force who paints with equal brilliance as he writes. With over twenty published works spanning poetry, short stories, novels, essays, literary criticism along with participation in art exhibitions across India, Dr. Samantaray has earned recognition as both a visual artist and a significant voice in contemporary Odia literature. His writings and his essays on art and artists have appeared in prestigious publications while his artistic vision has brought book covers to life for leading publishers nationwide. A recipient of the SRF from the Ministry of Culture, JRF from UGC, and numerous literary awards, Dr. Samantaray represents a unique understanding of creativity one that honors both the heart and the intellect.
